Love reading the history of Santa Fe and hearing about the lives of all the artists who have been drawn to its expansive and intoxicating beauty. Feedback from your sis: this could have been two posts; too much for my brain to absorb in one sitting. It’s all fascinating though and should be offered to your readers in smaller portions; otherwise, hard to digest and metabolize……. Just saying……

Thanks, Sis, As you might have seen, I've had LOTS of "multi-part" posts. Five on "Trules Rules" just before THIS ONE on my "Review of the Decades". I find that readers diminish over "the parts" and you are one of the ONLY readers who complain about the length of my posts (although I KNOW they are longer than many other Substack writers!). But I wanted to contain all the artists who stayed at the Turquoise Bear in A SINGLE POST for this one, and even so, I had to edit many out. YOU need to LOSE SOME CLIENTS. LOL.

You won’t lose me, it was enjoyable and informative; perhaps shorter attention span than your other readers.

We have so much history at The Turquoise Bear, where Chris and Mason and I stayed numerous times- back when the amazing, ever-charming former co-owner/manager Robert Frost (yes that is his name) held court in the most majestic way esp. during wine and cheese hour. It's where, in the parking lot, Chris and I had the biggest fight of our relationship and the biggest makeup- just 3/12 weeks before he died. So this was the first place I needed to return to, to stand in the same spot in the parking lot where all that happened. And we did return, Mason and I, a few times. Favorite rooms: The WItter Bynner, the Georgia O'Keeffe and as a family, we'd stay in the Shaman. And yes, the souls of writers and artists linger, you can feel it. It's one of the great treasures of old Santa Fe.
